Hi, I’m Adam — the maker behind Adam C Designs, based in South Hams, Devon.

Why I make what I make

I’m drawn to materials with character, and I love the mix of vibrant colour when you need joy and rich earthy tones when you need calm — because different days need different energy.

I create contemporary jewellery and tactile EDC pieces: rings, pendants, worry stones, and beads that are meant to be worn, held, and carried daily. I work with diverse materials like bentwood, silver, resin, carbon fibre, gemstones, and many more — combining warmth, strength, colour, creating a story, making pieces... that feel personal, grounding, and full of character.

Every piece is designed to feel good — beautiful to look at, genuinely good to wear and hold.

Made slowly. Finished obsessively. Built to last.‍ ‍

My story (the real reason this exists)

I’ve been creating since childhood — model cars first Which I still very much enjoy making them now — I studied art and graphic communication, and later art history with the The Open University.

This began as a way for me to cope through creativity. It became a way to focus, regulate, and rebuild confidence. Being neurodivergent is challenging, so understanding the need for something steadying, grounding, and tactile comes naturally. Keeping my hands busy created space to breathe and focus.

Later, after meeting a close friend who was living with CPTSD — she loved making jewellery and had a passion for gemstones, but couldn’t always physically create due to her illness. Through sharing her wealth of knowledge and skills with me , we were able to create beautiful jewellery together. This came about while she was attending a silversmithing course, where I was able to help and support her physically (and using my hands) so she could finish the course. Through sharing she was able to find a purpose through passing on her knowledge and skills. I enjoyed this so much I then went on to several silver smithing courses where I continued to further my skills and create my own designs.

I’ve carried on to this day. Making became a calm, focused, creative place — it rebuilt my confidence one piece at a time. I want to continue to live my passion and create — it doesn’t feel like work, more a lifestyle that I can make an income from and share with other creatives and like-minded people. Helping others along the way gives me purpose and is an unexpected bonus.
